HOWTO: Remove or Delete ALL of your old TurboLaw cases so you can start over again from scratch

This article will describe how to delete ALL of your old TurboLaw cases on a computer.

This is helpful if you had previously entered some cases in TurboLaw, but now want to re-install the program and start over again with a "clean slate."

Resolution:

WARNING: These steps will delete ALL of your TurboLaw cases and documents from your computer. Please be sure that this is REALLY what you want to do before following these steps. If you are not sure, please contact TurboLaw technical support.

To remove ALL of your TurboLaw cases from your computer, you must delete the leftover TurboLaw files that TurboLaw leaves behind when you uninstall the program. (TurboLaw never deletes the data you have entered for safety reasons.)

To delete the TurboLaw data and remove all cases from a computer, follow these steps:

  1. If TurboLaw is currently installed, uninstall it.
  2. Browse to the folder where TurboLaw was installed. In most cases, this will be C:\Program Files\TurboLaw. To browse to this folder, double-click the "My Computer" (or "Computer" if you are using Windows Vista) icon - either on the desktop or on your start menu. Then, browse into your C: drive (most likely labeled as "Local Disk"), then browse into the "Program Files" folder, and then into a folder called "TurboLaw."
  3. You will see several files and folders - these are the personal files that TurboLaw never deletes itself (because they contain your user data). If you want to start over from scratch with a completely clean slate, delete everything you see in this folder.
  4. Once you are done, re-install TurboLaw. The program will install with a clean, empty database.

Depending on how TurboLaw was installed on your computer previously, your user data may be located somewhere else on your computer, so the above steps may not remove your user data. If this is the case, you should contact TurboLaw Technical Support and we will help you locate your user data so you can delete it.
